European Youth Orienteering Championships is an annual orienteering event for youth, organized under authority of IOF EWG (International Orienteering Federation, European Working Group) and country organizer.
EYOC 2014 will be held in the Republic of Macedonia by Orienteering Federation of Macedonia in cooperation with Orienteering Club Edelweiss from Strumica in the fields at Strumica region including the city Strumica where will be held sprint race.
The championship dates are from 25 to 28 June 2014 according to the following program:
- Wednesday 25th June 2014: arrival, training
- Thursday 26th June 2014: Sprint distance, Opening ceremony
- Friday 27th June 2014: Long distance, party
- Saturday 28th June 2014: Relay, Victory and Closing ceremony
- Wednesday is the day of the arrival, accommodation and training day.
- Thursday will be day for sprint race which will be held in the city Strumica and same day will be Opening and Victory ceremony.
- Friday – Long race in the locality Suvi Laki which is at a distance of 25 km from the town of Strumica, and later the same day there will be Victory ceremony.
Saturday is the Relay day , Relay race also on the fields of Suvi Laki, and something later the same day there will be Victory and Closing ceremony.
Fields where the Championship will be held are with new maps made by Mr.Georgi Hadzimitev, Mr. Georgi Kartalov and Mr. Dian Bonev.
During this championship also will be held accompanying races Strumica Open with four races: Sprint race, Night Sprint race, Middle race and Long race and some of these races will be scored for WRE.
In EYOC 2014 can participate all National Teams from Europe in four categories:
- Women –16 (W16) up to 16 years old, born in 1998 or later
- Women – 18 (W18) up to 18 years old, born in 1996 or later
- Men – 16 (M16) up to 16 years old, born in 1998 or later
- Men – 18 (M18) up to 18 years old, born in 1996 or later
Who can participate in Strumica Open races?
-Can participate all who want to be part of the atmosphere during the Championship and feel the spirit of an wonderful event, all who want to visit Macedonia, all who want to experience another different orientation adventure on pitches untouched by the orientation till now.
The organizers have prepared a rich program in the field of socializing, entertainment, sightseeing and visits to places significant for the region.
In 2014 Orienteering Federation of Macedonia and OC Edelvajs from Strumica will organize this biggest European Youth Orienteering event in Europe, together with partners:
